Drishti Program for Open Schooling (NIOS)

Engage with the NIOS program at Drishti, designed for students with special educational needs and disabilities. Our expert faculty of special educators and psychologists offers personalised support at the Secondary (grade 10) and Senior Secondary (grade 12) levels, with a result-oriented, time-bound approach. The student’s benefit from an in-depth Personality Development Program to enhance their personal growth.

Eligibility: Ages 14 and above, including students with Learning and Intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder and other Special Educational Needs.

Student profile: Students who are facing challenges completing studies in the SSC/ICSE/HSC/CBSE/IGCSE/IB board curriculum but have the desire to finish the 10th or 12th grade from a nationally recognised board certification. This includes students diagnosed with Learning Disabilities, Intellectual impairments, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and other Children with Special Education Needs (CWSEN).

  • Secondary Examination: English, Data Entry Operations, Business Studies, Home Science, Economics
  • Senior Secondary Examination: English, Data Entry Operations, Mass Communication, Business Studies, Home Science

  • Secondary: M-F, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
  • Senior Secondary: M-F, 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm

About NIOS Board

NIOS offers education for students who struggle with traditional curricula, focusing on academic and vocational improvement. The program uses an Open and Distance Learning approach, catering to physically, intellectually, mentally, socially, and geographically disadvantaged individuals with a flexible, self-paced curriculum.

Key Features:

  • Broad Learner Spectrum: Customized subject choices and self-instructional materials.
  • Flexible Learning: Self-paced curriculum with a credit accumulation system and a five-year registration validity.
  • Recognition: NIOS certificates are equivalent to those from other boards.
  • Mediums: English, Hindi, Urdu, with additional options at the secondary level (Telugu, Gujarati, Malayalam, Marathi).
  • Eligibility for Registration: 14 years for Secondary (Xth) and 15 years for Senior Secondary (XIIth) as of July 31st of the current year.
